Local Talk is proud to present the first of two 10″ releases featuring music by Japan’s Kyoto Jazz Sextet. The band is made up of the star studded cast of Masanori Amakura, Shinpei Ruike (Rōnin Arkestra), Shuya Okino (Kyoto Jazz Massive), Takeshi Kurihara (Soil & “Pimp” Sessions), Yoshihito “P” Koizumi, and Yusuke Hirado (Quasimode).
Rising is taken from their second album ‘Unity’ released on Blue Note in 2017 and comes with a remix by Jazz Madicine. The remix by the Milanese trio has a feel of confidence and charge which allows it an accessibility and artistic integrity that shines through immediately, it takes you to another place.
