Alleviated Records proudly presents the first edition of ‘Underground Files’. A series designed to introduce new Artists/Producers/Technicians.
This first edition includes selections by 2 Memphis-based dj/technicians/producers, Adam Arthur and Michael Kuntzman.
Side A features Arkansas native Adam Arthur starting off with ‘Rogue Intent’. If you’re looking for radical-pumping house, look no further to get your crowd going crazy on the dancefloor. Next, we change the flavour a bit with ‘Flamenco’ for when you need some downtempo warm seductiveness.
Side B features 2 selections from Memphis dj/producer Michael Kuntzman. First up is ‘Shutter’ with a bumping sci-fi-house flavour. Then we have ‘Mondane’ with a pumping abstract-tribal-surreal tone.
All 4 tracks have been touched by Larry Heard so you know they come strong and correct.
This is a perfect example of people overlooking a dope record because they have never heard of the lead producer. A rookie mistake in this social media / celebrity producer world we live in. Shutter is the stand out cut for me here with Mondane being a close 2nd. Possibly more techno than house, this reminds me of the sound of Detroit.
