Detroit’s nu disco king, Pontchartrain, is back with another tasty set of edits. This very special, limited run of 500 purple marbled ‘spatter’ design 12″s, was done especially for Record Store Day 2016. Our tips are his edit of Double Exposure’s ‘Everyman’ – tweaked and twisted in all the right places to create a devastating effect on the dancefloor. And the boogie banger that is ‘Carrots + Beats’ (aka Electra’s Frankie Knuckles-inspiring ‘Feels Good’), which brings it nicely up to date, dropping in all the right places. These tracks would not sound out of place in a Rahaan set. Elsewhere his edit of Stevie Wonder is the kind if thing that Craig Charles plays in the clubs to mass appeal, plus his edit of Heart & Soul gives LNTG a run for his money.
