Detroit based Moodymann collaborator Norma Jean Bell is back with a kick ass double header on her own Pandamonium record label. Possibly best known for her House classic I’m The Baddest Bitch, the saxophone player, producer and singer has been a veteran on the house since since the 90’s clocking a supreme back catalogue to date.
Before that NJB was a part of Frank Zappa’s band as far back as 1975. Norma has also performed with Raydio, Narada Michael Walden, and Milt Jackson, and was in The Gallery Collective alongside Ron Trent.
Got Me A Mann and Libre Comme Un Oiseau (Free As A Bird) both feature vocals by (Queen Of Soul) Aretha Franklin. The Gospel driven Got Me A Mann is the stand out cut here for us.
