Description
‘Tin Top’ provides yet another reminder of why Kon is revered almost as much for his music knowledge and record collection as he is for his production skills. A party disco belter, Kon’s subtle edit of ‘Tin Top’ by Kenny Mann & The Liquid Pleasure Band simply can’t miss on the dance-floor thanks its infectious groove and fun lyrics. In Pt.2, the story takes a darker turn, while the track just keeps on grooving.
Review:
First time on vinyl, the Kon Edit was only included on the double CD version of Kon & Amir – Off Track Volume III: Brooklyn and was not on the vinyl version of the album.
Kon’s extended edit is an out and out dancefloor bomb that works the groove to the max. As an added bonus BBE have reissued the original 1977 versions on the B side. Part 1 focuses on the party and Part 2 takes us to the streets of Brooklyn back in the day.
Specially released for Record Store Day 2016, this is another essential entry in BBE’s 20 year long catalogue. Massively slept on!!! Full tracks in the player.
