Description

Ghetto Disco Records is a small, Edinburgh based, Disco Rework label, formed as the brainchild of Natasha Kitty Kat and Dennis Probert (Daughter & Father Duo!) The popular radio show, hosted by the duo, ‘Ghetto Disco’ has acted a catalyst for this venture. After gaining increased popularity across the globe, Natasha & Dennis felt it was only natural to take their passion for music and vinyl that step further. With a stream of high quality re-work exclusives being sent into to be played on air, the opportunity arose to turn this into something more.

This label aims to promote the high-end spectrum of the Disco edits scene with an array of prestigious producers that are popular within the modern Disco world. Each release will initially be limited edition to 500 copies with the opportunity to increase this, dependant on demand.

The first release turns to one of Disco’s hot tickets, Serge Gamesbourg. Serge has built up a strong reputation on the music scene through his fantastic productions that have been released on Rahaan’s Street Edits label and Kon’s recent compilation on BBE.

The Cool, The Hip & The Square is a cheeky take on the tune that inspired the record label. Sharp, funky tones with a contemporary vibe. Perfect for the dance floor, this track has already experienced fantastic feedback and demand. Whether it’s a disco set or a funk set, this track will integrate seamlessly.

Bring Them Back Together’ is the epitome of the classic orchestral Philly sound brought up to date. Perfect material for a wam-up set that would also work oh so well in the sunshine.
