Version Galore is a newly found label, deeply rooted into the music culture. We bring you the selected reworks / versions from the top producers in the game, showing lots of respect and care for the original, but elevating it’s spirit and taking it somewhere else.
It’s all about the dialogue of cultures and the idealistic desire to pass the music legacy on! No half-measures, played-out tunes, lazy cuts, or boring “808-kick boosting” biz!
On the second release of the label we are delighted to present you something special from the heart of Russia – handcrafted re-edits by the Moscow-based groove expert Lay-Far of Basic Fingers, GAMM & BBE fame.
On A-side Lay-Far is turning a certain operetta-like disco number into the explosion of sound. His revision of “I’m an Indian Too” is all about the wild burst of energy and the irresistible funky groove, working on so many levels!
B1 Lay-Far is stripping down the original 1976 stomper to it’s core groove and the very basic elements, enhancing them sonically to give the dancers what they really need!
Last but not least comes the dub version of a northern soul rarity “The Right One”. The imperfect original with its dirty and fuzzy texture is re-structured and reimagined in such a way to focus on the rhythm section with its gritty bass line and ruthless drums, however spicing the things up with the playful soulful intermissions, timed just right to suddenly bring it all back to where it all began – the groove.
VG02 continues the form of reworks / re-edits from the top producers, showing respect and care for the originals whilst readying it for the modern dancefloor. This one is for the heads!
